Tasks:

1.2. Optimization of Pilot production of AHCs targetting MACS
1.3. Design and Scale-up and standardization of AHC production (setting KPIs for LCA-LCC)
1.4. Techno-Economic assessment: Technical Datasheets Vs LCC perspectives

WP2

Objective:

Manufacturer-guided refinement of Nanoporous Carbons. Validation of Ultra-cheap & Green Devices. Proof of concept of High-Energy Product Line. Assessment of safety issues associated to new devices.

Tasks:
2.1 Benchmarking of AHCs and in-house testing by cell manufacturers
2.2 Design of cell prototype for the selected applications
2.3 Design of module prototype for the selected applications
2.4 Manufacture & In-house Test-Bed of Prototypes (cells and modules)
2.5 Evaluation of nano-safety issues of AHCs prior and at the end of service life

WP3

Objective:

Arrangement of Pilot DEMOs to achieve evidence of KVPs in strategic markets such as RES-E Grids, Automotive & Photo-Voltaic. Dimensioning and assembling the first ESS banks and ETOS.

Tasks:
3.1 Dimensioning storage bank for selected applications including AHCs into ESSs
3.2 Assembling of ESS for selected aplications against SPECs per NICHE Market
3.3 Performing 4 Pilot DEMO of ESS in real operative conditions (KPIs): Business Cases
– T.3.3.1 DEMO 1: RES-E buffering in Uninterrupted Power Supply: Evaluation of buffering abilities and aging of HESS under real Grid episodes in a micro-grid at 270 kW and 380 V applied to HESS.
– T.3.3.2 DEMO 2: Railway regenerative braking: Evaluation of electricity storage efficiency and aging of HESS under real transient profiles representative of train braking energy, at <600 V.
– T.3.3.3 DEMO 3: Electric Powertrain for Hybrid Vehicles: Evaluation of charge duration (2.5 kW) and range extension (in comparison to batteries alone) by HESS (220 Wh, 60V) under real driving patterns.
– T.3.3.4 DEMO 4: ETOS AC/DC Micro-invertors for PV panels.

WP4

Objective:

Retrieving critical information to evaluate techno-economic viability the new product lines. Roadmap of actions and investment required for Automation, Standardization and Qualification of Mass Production.

Tasks:
4.1 LCC and LCA of Innovative CareCAPs
4.2 Design seamless implementation of an adapted manufacturing line
4.3 Automated SC manufacturing of ESS with AHCs maintaining NCP/APC premises
4.4 Homologation-Certification of commercial CareCAPs

WP5

Objective:

Transforming the technological push provided by Demos into effective Market Uptake, devel-oping personalized Cost-Benefit Analysis. Establishing the terms for the exploitation of AHC.

Tasks:
5.1 B2B contacts with ESS end-users. Commercial T&C agreements
5.2 Agreement on Joint Venture for AHC production and exploitation
5.3 First commercial agreements for the final products. MoU with Key end users
5.4 CareSTOR Business Case based on techno-economic assessment results

WP6

Objective:

Coordinating actions devoted to Market Watch, Exploitation & Dissemination and Communica-tion. Providing a Roadmap towards Full-scale DEMOs in emerging Energy Storage applications.

Tasks:
6.1 CareSTOR Web-site
6.2 Dissemination strategy and implementation of dissemination actions
6.3 Communication Plan and implementation of the Communication Plan
6.4 Elaboration of an Exploitation plan (including IPR, Business Plans & business Case)

WP 7

Objective:

Consolidate Managing Structures and provide the Consortium Agreement. Implement BSC, Lean and IAPED Methodologies for an effective Innovation Management enabling the KVP goals of the project.

Tasks:
7.1 Risk Management and project Management Structures
7.2 Consortium Agreement & Amendments including communication to partners for management
7.3 Risk Management assurance including specific actions in case of conflict
